Byland Construction

Byland Construction, a small building firm in Bermuda, needed a visually striking web presence that set them apart from their larger, more established competitors in a cutthroat local market.

Motivated by the fact that most of their business comes from word-of-mouth referrals, we knew that the best way to enhance Byland’s reputation online would be to give their work the ability to speak for itself. Favouring emphasis on imagery over written content, we topped a panoramic image slider featuring well-lit, hi-res examples of their work with a horizontal dark slate navbar to help the photos “pop”.

Using blocky, capitalized text for the navigation visually complemented their existing logo while giving the site a “construction” feel, and calling attention to their three specialty service areas on the homepage (Construction, Kitchens & Roofing) helped to differentiate them from their local competitors, most of whom are focused solely on large-scale corporate contracts.
